Since before I started graduate school in August 2004, I have tremendously enjoyed Jorge Cham’s comic strips, and I have been an avid follower of PhDComics.com.

In his recent comic strip (below), Jorge cleverly illustrated the misrepresentation of research findings in the mass media.

Mass Media Science Fellowship

Are you interested in an alternative science career, where you can communicate scientific reports to the public? If so, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has the perfect fellowship opportunity for you.

This fellowship is a 10-week long summer program, where you will work in one of the nationwide mass media organizations as a reporter, researcher, or production assistant.

In order to qualify, you must be a science college student or post doctoral student (within one year of your dissertation defense).
